Charis Demoulias was born in Katerini, Greece on 23/07/1961. He received the Diploma in Electrical Engineering and the Ph.D degree from the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece, in 1984 and 1991 respectively.
In 1992 he co-founded the consulting company Alteren SA with which he designed, supervised and implemented numerous projects on: electrical energy conservation, stand-alone and grid-tied PV systems, passive power harmonic filters, electrical and thermal energy storage, lighting and lighting-control systems as well as conventional electrical-mechanical installations.
Currently he is Professor (Full) with ECE teaching Power Electronics, Electrical Machines and Electric Motion Systems in the under graduate courses. He also teaches Power Quality in the post graduate courses of ECE.
He has supervised 4 Ph.D theses and more than 80 diploma theses.
