Panagiods Petrantonakis was born in Ierapetra, Crete in 1984. He received his Diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh) in 2007 and his Ph.D. in 2011 from the same insdtudon. His doctoral dissertadon dealt with the recognidon of emodonal states from electroencephalographic data using advanced signal processing methods and machine learning. During 2012-2016, he was a postdoctoral researcher at the Insdtute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology of the Foundadon for Research and Technology – Hellas (FORTH) where he invesdgated the mechanisms of informadon processing within specific brain structures and worked on analysis of neuroscience data. From 2017 to 2022 he was a postdoctoral researcher at the Informadon Technologies Insdtute of the Centre for Research and Technology – Hellas (CERTH) where he worked on biomedical data analysis, image analysis with deep learning techniques and data processing on graphs. Since June 2022, he is an Assistant Professor in the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, AUTh.
